*Important Notice for NorSask 2020*
Welcome to the 21st summer of the NorSask Hockey Development Camp. We are always excited at this time of year, knowing that the ice will be going in shortly. Due to COVID-19, we are sure you have a lot of questions about how the camps will proceed this year. Please allow us to clarify many questions you may have.
We have been trying to understand and follow the rules and regulations that have come from the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Saskatchewan Hockey Association, and the city of Prince Albert. It was only on July 15 when we received precise information that we wish to share. We hope this is a one time event and go back to our ways of having regular camps in 2021.
The NorSask Hockey Camps will only hold a ONE week session, August 10-14
If you have registered for any camp running August 6-9, we will be in contact shortly. To be certain you have a spot reserved in Hockey School, we have moved all participants currently registered in ANY camp into an appropriate Ice Session running August 10- 14.
All sessions will be ice only. There will not be any classroom or dryland events this year
There will no longer be a goaltender’s camp (Group A). All goaltenders will be moved to the regular hockey school in their appropriate age group. We will only accept 4 goaltenders per age group. Please refer to the website for availability. Goaltenders will still get instruction on the ice. Goaltenders cost is $350 (plus gst).
Participants in group B will be moved to group D and participants in group C will move to group E. Hockey camps will be reduced to $375 (plus gst).
There will be no defence camp (Group H) or checking camp (Group I). Participants currently registered in these camps have been moved into the appropriate offered camps to ensure their spot is reserved.
Bantam Camp will be held on August 10-13, 6:15 – 7:30 pm
Registration will be a little different this year. Due to COVID-19, Source for Sports will not be open on Sundays. We will have our main registration on Saturday, August 8 from 10 a.m.-4:00 p.m. At this time, familiies can pay the remainder that is owed; have a chance to get a name and number on the jersey and shop at the store. If you are unable to make it to registration on Saturday, we will be able to register at the Art Hauser Centre before your first ice session. We will be available to complete the registration process and give the jersey to your child. Just a reminder that we only take cash, cheque and e-transfer. If paid in full, there is no need to registered unless you want to come down and get their name and number on the jersey.
For those entring the Bantam, Midget or Jr./Pro camps, we will not be giving the jerseys out until just before the first skate as it gives us time to make up teams. You can just come to the rink and we can register before the first ice session.
COVID 19 Rules and Regulations
Due to government regulations, on ice numbers will be capped at 30. Therefore, there will be 4 instructors, 4 goaltenders and 22 skaters. If we do not receive 4 goaltenders, we will put waiting list participants in their place and increase the number of skaters.
Only 30 visitors allowed in the rink. This means only 1 parent/adult in the rink per participant.
Showers will not be available.
Dressing rooms: We are asking that participants dress at home (or in the parking lot).
1. Group D (Novice) – Due to the size of this larger dressing room, 15 participants will be allowed in the dressing room. All other participants will need to put equipment and/or skates on in the hallway. This will be assigned on a first to arrive basis.
2. All other groups will have 2 dressing rooms of 10 participants. This will be assigned on a first to arrive basis. All others will have to put equipment and/or skates on in the hallway
All visitors, participants, and parents will need to use hand sanitizer (provided) and must sign in before proceeding to dressing room area each time they enter the rink that day. This is for contact tracing in case it is needed.
Players must use their own clearly labeled water bottle.
Canteen will be closed
Once again, we will stagger ice times for groups D, E, & F (Novice, Atom, Pee Wee). We don’t want to have 1 group have the 8:00 am session for the full week.

We understand that this new scheduling may be an inconvenience. While many camps have decided to not run this year, we have tried hard to offer a hockey camp that will work, will be safe for everyone and will follow all of the government rules and regulations.
Also be aware that you will not be allowed entrance to the rink if:
you have been out of the country in the past 14 days
you experience any flu like symptoms have a fever
Please practice physical distancing rules in the dressing rooms and in the arena.
We hope that these changes are only for this year and that we can offer you a full hockey camp in 2021.
If you have questions about our camps for this year please call:
See you in August!
